The story of a young couple who falls in love and struggles to keep its relationship alive going through tenderness and fights, lies and emotions, secrets and cheatings. A sentimental dramedy about couples and the effect of time passing on their relationships, posing a simple but profound question: what superpowers you need to have, to love each other your whole life?
At the centre of this beautiful romance is the idea that ‘you need to be a superhero’ to love someone for an entire lifetime. Paolo Genovese has adapted the novel he himself wrote to tell a passionate, wildly romantic and poignant love story. Jasmine Trinca and Alessandro are sublime as Anna and Marco and possess natural sparkling chemistry on screen.
Anna is an impulsive eccentric, and Marco is a straight-laced physics teacher living in a very empirical scientific world. Their differences complement them, and their attraction seems
unstoppable and genuinely passionate. We are engrossed as we follow them falling in love and struggling to keep their relationship alive through tenderness, conflicts, lies, secrets and cheating.
Soon we realise that they are indeed flawed superheroes, keeping their love alive. Superheroes is a supremely touching drama about couples and the effect of time on their relationships.

“But the real strength of the film is the main actors: Jasmine Trinca, an award-winning actor who never seems to fault, and Alessandro Borghi, one of the most talented Italian actors of the
twenty-first century.”
