Join exhibiting artist Fiona Clark and guests for a discussion on the importance of representation of marginalised and under-represented community groups in local archives.
Taranaki artist Fiona Clark is a leading figure of New Zealand photography. Owing much to a social documentary tradition, Clark is known for her intimate, arresting photographs that explore issues around the representation of marginalised and under-represented communities. Clark's exhibition at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, Raw Material, has a focus on a careful selection of elements from her extensive archive, interwoven with personal commentary and texts.
