Talks for older people keen for a regular dose of art and culture.
Free-flowing conversations and experiences of contemporary art inside the current exhibitions. No knowledge of art is needed.
To celebrate Len Lye's 120th Birthday on the 5th July, join us for a tour through our current Len Lye exhibitions, Tangibles: 1963 - 1969 and Wand Dance.
Tangibles: 1963-1969 is the second of two exhibitions presenting a chronological overview of Lye’s kinetic sculpture.
This exhibition presents some of Lye’s most well-known and acclaimed tangibles, Universe and Storm King with lesser known examples such as the recently reconstructed Wand Dance and Albatross.
One of Len Lye’s most captivating projects returns.
The recently reconstructed Wand Dance presents seven Bell Wands swaying, shaking and shimmying in a group composition – a tell-tale sign of Lye's mind at work where bigger is often better. Walking among the seven wands, you will experience one of Lye's most absorbing projects, surrounded by his dancing figures as if inside a dance itself.
