Celebrate the new publication in association with Kūreitanga II IV.

Join Taranaki artist WharehokaSmith (Taranaki, Te Ātiawa, Ngā Ruahine) in conversation with exhibition curator Chloe Cull as they discuss the elements that informed the work.

Commissioned for the Govett-Brewster’s Todd Energy Learning Centre, Taranaki artist WharehokaSmith’s (Taranaki, Te Ātiawa, Ngā Ruahine) work Kūreitanga II IV is located at the heart of the building and is reflective of designs used by Māori to decorate wharenui (ceremonial communal houses), clothing, objects and architectural spaces. Led by the Govett- Brewster’s education team, students of all levels can use Kūreitanga II IV to extend their understandings of toi Māori.
