Get an insight into the life and ideas of Len Lye.

On a walk and talk with the curator, you'll tour the current exhibitions No Trouble and Art That Moves.

The exhibition No Trouble demonstrates the range and depth of the Len Lye Foundation collection and archive, showcasing recent acquisitions alongside many rarely exhibited documents and artworks. This exhibition charts the early years of Lye’s career, observing his childhood in Aotearoa New Zealand and first steps as an artist in Wellington before an offshore departure that took the artist to Australia, Samoa and on to the United Kingdom.

The exhibition Art That Moves captures the essence of Len Lye’s tangible motion sculpture with a rotating selection of works from the Len Lye Foundation Collection. The desire to explore movement and light was a focus of Lye’s work throughout his career as a filmmaker, painter and visionary.
