Open Collection: He Rere Ke - Different Pathways in the Gallery's Upper Ramp is guest curated by artist Gabrielle Belz (Ngapuhi, Te Atiawa). Belz is a founding member of Toi Whakataa – Maori print Collective, committee member of Te Atinga – the visual arts committee of Toi Maori Aotearoa, and co-founder of Gallery Patea.

Initially trained as a commercial artist, Belz is now a full-time painter and printmaker. Recently relocated to Taranaki, Belz has had a long career in the visual arts working as an arts educator during the 80’s and 90’s, and from the early 90’s co-ordinating and curating exhibitions, taking part in international print exchanges, while exhibiting widely in NZ and overseas.
