Join Ella Tiafau Loheni Stancil for an introduction to Samoan Siva.
This 1 hour workshop will be introduction to basics that will take you through the Siva Samoa in its simplest form. Ella will guide you through tips, demonstrations and an explanation of each movement. You will also learn how the Nifo Oti and Tuiga (ceremonial headdress) play a part in traditional Samoan Siva.
Ella Tiafau Loheni Stancil
Ella was raised in Samoa until she was 18, then moved to Aotearoa to pursue tertiary education at AUT. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and is now working for Pacific Media Network as well as running her own private tutoring for Siva Samoa.
Ella is a strong advocate for the preservation and protection of traditional practices and custom through performing arts, storytelling and language. She owes it all to the village that raised her and the community that lovingly embraces her as a tama’ita’i Samoa.
