In Recent Taranaki Photographs, Aberhart is absorbed in capturing the architecture and landscapes that we may barely notice or see ourselves. Sometimes melancholic, sometimes quietly humorous, his 30 black and white photographs explore the land we inhabit and the memories embedded in the relationship between natural and built forms.

Laurence Aberhart: Recent Taranaki Photographs is a 2009 - 2011 commission by the Govett-Brewster with support from the Lysaght-Watt Trust through the Govett-Brewster Foundation.
