The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery Directors have selected favourite artworks for the Auckland Virtual Art Fair, with a focus on artists from the Gallery’s 50-year history.⠀
This year’s event, running online until 17th May 2020 is being staged in lieu of the live Auckland Art Fair, for which Govett-Brewster was the Museum Partner.
Online and free to access until 5pm this Sunday, The Virtual Art Fair is taking place in recognition of the artists who made work for the planned live event, and the galleries that represent and support them.
Online visitors will have the opportunity to browse the work of 35 participating galleries, from more than 175 artists. All proceeds from sales go to the artists and galleries involved.
Govett-Brewster’s Directors have selected five artworks for the virtual fair, including 2020 Walters Prize nominee Sriwhana Spong, a Balinese New Zealand artist currently based in London, New Plymouth-born Francis Upritchard, Auckland-based multidisciplinary artist Lisa Reihana, and also Len Lye’s Fountain.
