The Len Lye Cinema returns on 6th June

Bringing movies back to the Govett-Brewster

29 May 2020

We are pleased to announce the Len Lye Cinema will reopen on 6th June, welcoming back cinema-lovers with a brand new programme of films. We cannot wait to see you!

The Len Lye Cinema is happy to get back into business after an extended hiatus, with a new programme of current art house favourites as well as the return of the Goethe-Institut and British Film Council programmes.

We are also delighted to welcome our friends from the New Plymouth Film Society back into the cinema, so they can recommence their own lovingly selected programme.

As always, there will be a range of up to date content currently screening at boutique cinemas around the country as well as the Len Lye Cinema’s own unique mix of cult and classic titles.

Our June listings are now available, so take a look at what’s on and book your tickets online.

We hope to bring you a selection of our regular film festivals later in the year. We also look forward to a return to full-seating capacity as soon as we can; right now our team is ensuring best practice for cinemagoers under Level 2. Please take a look at our news update for visitor information and FAQs. We will update you as soon as we can if anything changes.

We are also very much looking forward to hosting our own mini festival of films. The Bubble Community Film Project had a great response in terms of submissions and recently announced a line-up of homegrown industry talent as guest panellists to review entries.

We are also pleased to announce we will be presenting the New Plymouth entrants in this year’s virtual 48 Hour Film Festival. Stay tuned for further updates.
