Gallery Update

11 Jun 2020

The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre is open and we look forward to seeing you.

Len Lye’s Sky Snakes is on view alongside some of his iconic sculptures, while a comprehensive survey of his film practice - The Absolute Truth of the Happiness Acid – is open in the remainder of the Len Lye Centre.

In August, we debut Candice Lin's first solo show in New Zealand, Pigs and Poison.

Our cinema and public events are regaining momentum, and ready for your next visit.

Exhibitions

Len Lye's monumental new work, Sky Snakes, is on view in the Len Lye Centre, alongside some of his iconic kinetic sculptures.

We are also presenting The Absolute Truth of the Happiness Acid, the most comprehensive survey of Len Lye’s film practice exhibited at the Gallery, with some fascinating insight into his film-making techniques and tools.

In August, we open Candice Lin's first solo show in New Zealand, Pigs and Poison

For further details on these shows, head to our What's On: Exhibitions page.
