Visit the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre, this coming July school holidays, for free, fun things to do for all the family.
Alongside our current exhibitions, the Govett-Brewster Shop, regular public programming, including cinema screenings, we’ve got the following free activities running between 4-19 July.
Suitable for ages four years plus, families can attend drop-in, art-making sessions every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the school holidays. Try out a range of activities like creating a mountain sculpture out of strings and stones, experimenting with everyday utensils as stencils to paint a movie poster or colourful hat and mask-making.
Treat the kids these school holidays with films especially for children. The Len Lye Centre Cinema will be hosting daily school holiday movies, suitable for children aged four years plus:
Zog & The Snail and the Whale: Two short films based on the popular illustrated books by Julia Donaldson
Ernest & Celestine: Oscar-nominated animated feature about the friendship between a gruff bear and an artistically inclined mouse.
'Find It In The City' Trail
Go explore the city on this cultural trail, taking in the community galleries, street art and Coastal Walkway of New Plymouth. Families can do the trail anytime between 4 and 19 July and those that complete it, go into a draw with a chance to win some great prizes.
Just pick up a map from Govett-Brewster, Puke Ariki, TSB Showplace, Kina Gallery, Koru on Devon or the Jewel and the Jeweller.
