About
Ngā Manu Pīkoko proudly share their collaboration with lead artist Maureen Lander, centred around the kaupapa of kaitiakitanga. Listen deeply as these youth leaders share their rich experiences, highlighting their connection and care for local awa, kiwi, and whenua and be inspired by their dedication and passion for the environment and cultural heritage.
Ngā Manu Pīkoko, is a special group of tamariki from local kura and schools involved in Te Ara Taiao. An environmental leadership programme aimed at enhancing the mouri and ecology of the whenua, awa, and moana. Through active relationships between people and nature, they engage in hands-on management of these taonga, deepening their understanding by learning the stories of the land and creating their own.
