About

If the Len Lye Centre could sing, what would it sound like?

Experience the dynamic intersection of architecture, contemporary art, and sound, as Mia Salsjö's score comes to life with players from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. A homage to 20th-century luminary Len Lye, A Score for the Len Lye Centre transposes the shimmering contours of Aotearoa’s most iconic architecturally designed art museum into a musical score on its 10th anniversary.

Drawings of A Score for the Len Lye Centre also forms the 2025 acquisitive Ramp Commission.

A Score for the Len Lye Centre will be played live in the gallery three times throughout the day on Saturday 30th of August— 11:00–11:20 / 1:00–1:20 / 2:30–2:50.

Please arrive to the gallery with plenty of time to find a place to stand. Latecomers will not be admitted.

If you have accessibility needs, please let one of our team know, or email govettinfo@npdc.govt.nz.
