Andrew Beck: Pressure Angle

Andrew Beck has produced new work in response to a particular set of intersecting histories: exhibition design at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery; documentation of work by New Zealand artist Darcy Lange and its social implications; the architecture and design of the original branch of the TSB Bank; and the mechanical engineering workbooks of the artist’s grandfather. These histories converge at the Old Bank space, viewed retrospectively through the filters of geometric abstraction and photography.
