The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and Len Lye Centre in Ngāmotu New Plymouth is seeking an experienced curator to forge new exhibitions, conversations and audiences using the work of Len Lye.
This is a role for an experienced curator with knowledge of modern and contemporary art who can extend understanding and appreciation of Lye's practice in both a local and global context, and place his legacy within contemporary art, film and other media.
The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery - Len Lye Centre is a contemporary art gallery with international reputation and reach. Added in 2015, the Len Lye Centre is the home of Len Lye's collection and archive, and the centre for research, exhibitions and publications that convey the importance of his practice within the 20th century, today, and into the future.
Reporting to the Director, you will undertake new research, exhibition making and interpretation and work with key external partners and the Gallery team to successfully offer meaningful exhibition, publication and public program experiences.
