The Gallery's past and present come alive when its stories are told - our passionate and experienced team are available to share these stories and make your visit special.

Get the most out of your visit to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre with a personal guided tour of the buildings, history, stories and current exhibitions.

We offer two tour options - a Museum Tour of the current exhibitions and installations, with a comprehensive background in the Gallery's transformation from pioneering cinema to acclaimed contemporary art museum.

At the other end of the spectrum are Bespoke Curator Tours, which can provide detailed insight into specific exhibitions. Read more about each tour below. 

Beyond these packages, we are more than happy to create a custom experience that meets your needs - whether that's a private dinner, film screening, family art class, product or fashion launch. Similarly, we can package tours with other items and experiences - such as an exhibition catalogue, souvenir t-shirt, lunch at our fabulous Monica’s Eatery, or a full multi-day accommodation and experience package.

Museum Tour

Discover the story of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and artist Len Lye, with this guided group tour. This tour is available for groups of 4 - 20.

Bespoke Curator Tour

Get an in-depth look at Len Lye’s work and the current contemporary art exhibitions with one of the Govett-Brewster’s internationally regarded Curators. This tour is available for groups of 4 - 12.
