The Gallery entrance is combined with an art and design store and is located on Queen Street.
The automatic sliding glass doors are on a flat level surface.
Inside the Govett-Brewster Shop and Gallery entrance is a wheelchair access ramp to the restaurant café, Monica’s Eatery, located next door.

The Gallery is Aotearoa New Zealand's contemporary art museum and home to the Len Lye Centre dedicated to the pioneering filmmaker and kinetic sculptor, Len Lye.

- A coat and bag check are available at reception for valuables.
- Eating or drinking is not permitted in our gallery spaces.
- Feast your eyes, but please don’t touch the artwork.
- The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre is a smoke-free area.
- Feel free to take photographs for personal use, but do not use the flash and note that special conditions may apply to some artworks.
- WiFi available in all gallery spaces. Please respect fellow visitors when using personal mobile devices.
- Please refrain from talking on mobile telephones in exhibition spaces and the cinema.
